The Australian Vegetable Industry Conference is a biennial event, encouraging networking and unity between growers, researchers, the industry supply chain and service providers across Australia.

This event provides an excellent opportunity to showcase research and development outcomes to growers as well as offering an ideal setting for the industry to come together and explore future strategies to ensure its success.

The next conference will be held at the Melbourne Convention Centre from Monday 4 May until Wednesday 6 May 2009. This will be followed by the National Vegetable Expo in Werribee from Thursday 7 May to Friday 8 May 2009.

The 2009 Australian Vegetable Industry Conference follows on from the successful 2006 and 2007 conferences, securing its place as a landmark event for Australia’s vegetable industry.

The inaugural conference held in Brisbane, 2006 was a great opportunity for the industry to come together on a national level. Focusing on global trends, delegates collectively worked together to develop strategies for the industry to successfully compete in a globalised economy.

More than 500 delegates attended the 2007 ‘Vegetables Claim Centre Plate’ conference in Sydney, with 95 per cent of delegates rating the event as either good or excellent. The conference challenged delegates to consider consumers’ needs and desires and explore how the industry as a whole can meet these demands.

The 2009 conference will once again welcome participation from all vegetable industry sectors, bringing together general vegetables, fresh and processed potatoes, onions, organics, hydroponics and Asian vegetables.

We hope to see you there!
